The company is noted for providing detailed documentation and handling the back-and-forth with insurance companies, which can result in a more favorable outcome for the homeowner.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the full spectrum of customer experiences. While some reviews highlight a positive experience, other feedback points to significant issues with the quality of workmanship and project execution. These concerns include serious safety issues, such as covered attic and fireplace vents, as well as poor installation practices for siding and windows. This varied feedback highlights the importance of thorough due diligence for any homeowner considering a large-scale renovation project, reinforcing the need to carefully vet contractors and their on-site crews.

- Lack of Property Care: The review also noted a lack of care for the homeowner's property, including muddy boot prints inside the house, a lack of tarps to protect floors, and debris like nails left scattered around the yard and garden.

Apr 03, 2025 · Vishal PhonsaDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are terrible.if i could give them a true rating g it would be a -10We used this company for an extensive renovation. We wanted the house resided and the garage garage as well as replace all our windows plus put in a window in a rear bedroomWe used hardie plank for our siding here are SOME things where they could of killed usWhen doing the siding they cover the gable venting to the attic on both sides. When asked if they were going to fix this the answer was some air flow explanation that didn’t make any sense. I asked numerous times how they were venting the attics on both the garage and the house, I even told them I wanted the gable venting done but they never fixed this issue. When siding the chimney for the fireplace they covered the vent that allowed air flow into the fireplace. If we would of had a fire the carbon monoxide would of killed usWhen they put the new window in the back room, that previously didn’t have a window, they installed it vertically. When I asked the guys what was wrong with this they looked at it like is was fine. I looked at them and said so how would you like me to open the window crawl under my bed. Really. So they made it horizontal, insulated the walls and put the drywall on. Then mudded it. They didn’t seem to think they should finish the mudding job so we did, thank god. as we were trying to sand off massive amounts of mud we noticed the wall was bowed. They couldn’t get the old drywall to meet the new drywall so they just pushed the drywall in and mudded it a lot to make it stay. We decided to redo the drywall and pull the 2’ of old drywall off on Either side. What we found was jaw dropping. First the Vapor barrier they used was thinner than sandwich wrap and they needed to extend the electrical box for our plugs. What I found was the old wire was connected with the new wire with electrical tape and left to just hang in the wall. No medal boxes nothing. The hardie board was hung so loose that you could put your hands under the boards. We had a wind storm one night the boards they hung where clapping so loud the dogs where going crazy. I kept telling the crew they were hanging it wrong as I had hung hardie at our place on the west coast. They say they lay tarps in the house so they don’t get the house dirty. They were in And out of the house no tarps, but a lot of muddy boots. We have scratches on the bedroom floor from when they were putting the windows in because they didn’t tarp the floors. They say they clean up every night after before they leave, no they just cleaned up their tools. They left nails everywhere. We had just had our front garden redone and by the time they left we had our ordame ts broken, pulled out of the ground, the bricks around the garden were falling off, where they just decided to lay the hardie, insulation and other material on the grass that was dead, where they did the sawing I had to pick up lots of nails as well as in the garden. Plus they worn a walking path across the lawn. There was no care for our property at all.As the weather got colder when they were working in the backyard they just started a fire in the fire pit and never asked. They just used the wood that was there p, which ended up being wood I left out to dry that you can’t replace. The windows we ordered were wrong we ordered upper crank windows so we have a whole story of issues around that. There were so many discussions I could write a book on that whole issue and it wasn’t good none of it.They started the job end of june and left the job incomplete the end of October. They left with the back window in but had to fill in a huge gab as we made the window smaller. Where they made walls to fill in the gap they never Insulated the inside of the house nor drywalled it. So when they walk away from the job they left our tv room exposed to the winter elements.I could go on and on with the issues we had with this company. End result was ripped down and all redone

Mar 21, 2025 · Mike JohnsonShield did a great job with repairing my siding and roof after a hail storm in my neighbourhood. Nathan at Shield was fantastic to do deal with and was prompt in his communication. The project came in on budget as originally estimated and any questions or concerns I had along the way were addressed by Nathan. Nathan was very supportive as we worked through design and colour choices which made the process much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend them for your project!
